Our Management Team
Michiel Schipperus – CEO & Managing Partner
Michiel has been working in e-commerce since 1999 when he joined ISM eGroup. It was here that the concept for Sana Commerce originated. Today Sana is a separate business.
Over the years Michiel has consulted many distributors and manufacturers on how to successfully set up an online sales channel. These lessons learned from over a hundred B2B e-commerce cases were used to develop the Sana Commerce product. Together with the whole team at Sana it is his mission to show distribution businesses and manufacturers that the road to online success is shorter than they think.
Michiel holds a master’s degree in economics and business from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Rik Harmsen van der Vliet – Sales Director
Rik has worked at various software companies in pre-sales and sales roles. He has been selling ERP software since 2004 and started as Sana’s first dedicated sales manager in 2011.
As a result of his ERP background, Rik has a thorough understanding of the opportunities that integrated e-commerce holds for wholesale distribution and manufacturing companies. Rik created a feasibility study for a fruit and vegetable web store in 1999 and taught e-commerce at the Avans University of Applied Science for three years. Together with the sales team it is Rik’s mission to help companies successfully take their business online.
Rik holds an associate degree in logistics and a master’s degree in marketing from TIAS in Tilburg.
Arno Ham – Chief Product Officer
Arno started his e-commerce career at ISM eGroup more than ten years ago. As a development manager, he led many (B2B) e-commerce projects for customers like Heineken, AkzoNobel and PostNL. Arno has been involved with the development of Sana Commerce since 2008.
In his current position as Chief Product Officer at Sana, he combines the requirements of customers and partners and Sana’s vision on B2B e-commerce in a comprehensive product strategy and product roadmap. Arno is responsible for guiding the product management, product development and product marketing teams and works with his team every day to make the ERP integration of Sana Commerce better, faster and easier.
Arno earned his bachelor’s degree in software engineering at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.
Tim Beyer – Chief Operating Officer
Tim started his career at Sana in 2013. His first goal was to guide the international expansion of the firm, which mostly operated locally at the time. Sana opened its New York and Sri Lanka offices the following year. Since then, Sana has continued to successfully expand its international operations.
Tim is responsible for corporate services such as finance, HR, and legal for all Sana offices worldwide. He is also responsible for international operation and Sana’s controlled international growth. In his role as Chief Operating Officer, Tim is driven to continue Sana’s global expansion and design the company’s operations in such a way that Sana can perfectly serve its international client base.
Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in international business administration and two master’s degrees in finance and investment (MSc) and financial law (LLM, cum laude) from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. He is a frequently requested guest lecturer at various educational institutions in the Netherlands and abroad on topics like international entrepreneurship, cross-cultural management, market entrance strategies and scaling up.
Jeroen Kuppens – Marketing Director
Jeroen joined Sana in 2014. Today he is responsible for all global marketing activities including managing business development teams, marketing teams and partner marketing.
As the Global Marketing Director, Jeroen sees it as his mission to keep fueling Sana’s explosive growth by creating opportunities for new business. He is driven by his passion to help B2B companies realize their full potential by adding e-commerce to their commercial activities.
Jeroen has a two bachelor’s degrees in business administration and communications science, and a master’s degree in corporate communication from the University of Amsterdam. During his studies he attended Campbell University as a student athlete playing Division 1 tennis.
